There is always something going on in Cleveland. Just a few of our favorite events include:
Restaurant Week- Keep Cleveland Boring and Team Cleveland partner to host this annual event. Restaurant Week is held during the last week of January each year. During Restaurant Week, local eateries add special menu items. Every time a customer orders from the special menu, they get to vote on a project that they would like to see take place in Cleveland. The project that receives the most votes receives $1 from every special item ordered during the week.
Mardi Gras Parade - The Mardi Gras Parade is held each year in February or early March. The parade begins on South Bayou and travels up Sharpe Ave and down Cotton Row in downtown Cleveland.
Fashion Shows- Each season H Squared Ladies Wear hosts a fashion show in downtown Cleveland. Hundreds turn out for a first glimpse of the hottest fashions of the season. Following the show, many businesses stay open late for shopping.
Easter Egg Hunt- The Easter Egg Hunt generally takes place on the weekend before Easter weekend. For a small fee, children can have breakfast with the Easter Bunny, search for over 5,000 eggs and take pictures with the Bunny.
Anotherfest - Anotherfest is the little sister of Otherfest. It is a music festival where live music is setup outside of restaurants all over town. It is a great opportunity to travel around Cleveland, enjoy the great food and drinks while listening to live music. This event is hosted by Keep Cleveland Boring.
Go Green Weekend- Delta State University hosts Go Green Weekend each year in conjunction with a home baseball game. This event includes live music, a golf tournament and a crawfish boil. For more information, contact the DSU Alumni Association.
Pour Mississippi- Pour Mississippi is a craft beer festival hosted by Keep Cleveland Boring. It is held each May in downtown Cleveland and features live music, craft beer and great food!
Buds + Burgers - Bud +Burgers takes place each year on the first Saturday in June. This event is held in downtown Cleveland and includes a burger competition, live music, kids activities and more.
Mississippin' Saturdays- Mississippin' Saturdays take place during the spring and fall and feature Mississippi craft beers. The event takes place at Hey Joe's.
Crosstie Arts and Jazz Festival- Crosstie Arts and Jazz Festival is held in April of each year. The event is held around the Courthouse Lawn in downtown Cleveland. It features handcrafted items by hundreds of artists and crafters, live music, food, and a children's area.
Delta Down and Dirty- The Delta Down and Dirty is a children's obstacle race that is held each September. This event is hosted by the DSU Outdoor Recreation Program.
Pig Pickin'- Pig Pickin' is held each September in conjunction with a home football game.
It features a BBQ contest, live music and more! This event is hosted by DSU Athletics.
Otherfest- Otherfest takes place each September and features a day full of music. Keep Cleveland Boring brings in new and unsigned artists to perform at a venue that is setup on historic Hwy 61. Many of the artists who have performed at past Otherfests have gone on to become big names in the music industry. This event also features food and drinks.
Octoberfest- Each October, the Cleveland Bolivar County Chamber and Team Cleveland host Octoberfest. This event brings in over 15,000 attendees and features a Memphis BBQ Network sanctioned BBQ contest, a music stage, a huge variety of food vendors, a children's area and hundreds of craft vendors.
Cleveland Bites- Cleveland Bites is an event that is held on the first Thursday of each November in the Alley next to Mosquito Burrito. Participants pay to attend and once inside they get to try samples of food from some of the best restaurants around. The event also features live music and drinks. Money raised from Cleveland Bites goes to a facade grant program administered by Team Cleveland. This event is a partnership between Team Cleveland and Keep Cleveland Boring.
Holiday Open House- Holiday Open House falls on the second Sunday of November. The event also includes a Saturday evening shop and sip event. During Holiday Open House, merchants reveal their holiday window displays for the first time.
50 Nights of Lights - Each year in November and December over 100,000 lights transform Cleveland into a winter wonderland. The event officially begins with a Tree Lighting Ceremony on the second Saturday in November in conjunction with Holiday Open House.
Christmas Parade- The Cleveland Christmas Parade is held on the first Thursday of December at 6 pm. The parade begins and Cleveland High and travels down Court Street into downtown Cleveland.
Holiday Pub Crawl- The Holiday Pub Crawl is a partnership between the Cleveland Bolivar County Young Professionals and Keep Cleveland Boring. The event is held on the first Saturday of December. Attendees wear their best holiday attire and carol around at many of the downtown restaurants.
Holiday Promotions- Each weekend in December, Team Cleveland hosts holiday promotions. These promotions include: Selfies with Santa, Downtown Movies, Carriage Rides and live music.
